The Siemens L13-5 Wireless Linear Transducer is designed to meet the specific needs of healthcare professionals in clinical settings, particularly for point-of-care (POC) applications. As an integral part of the ACUSON Freestyle™ ultrasound system, the L13-5 features Siemens’ exclusive ultra-wideband wireless transmission technology, allowing freedom of movement without compromising image quality.

With a frequency of 5 to 13 MHz and a depth of 2 to 6 cm, this transducer is particularly suitable for examinations of superficial structures, vascular, musculoskeletal, paediatric and small organs (thyroid, breast, testicles). Its compact footprint of 25.6 mm x 4 mm ensures excellent manoeuvrability, while its 128 elements guarantee exceptional resolution for B-mode, colour Doppler and amplitude Doppler images.

One of the strengths of the L13-5 is its wireless design. With a secure connection up to 3 metres via ultra-wideband 7.8 GHz radio, it eliminates cumbersome cables that can interfere with sterile procedures or restrict the practitioner’s movements. With touch controls integrated directly into the probe (gain, freeze, save, colour activation), the professional can operate the ultrasound scanner without touching the console, optimising workflow.
